Shawan Rice Trio

Shawan Rice is a New Orleans–based guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and storyteller whose work highlights original compositions alongside reinterpretations of influential repertoire. Touring for more than a decade across the United States and internationally, she has appeared on major stages including the Congo Square stage at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the Jazz Ascona Festival in Switzerland, and has shared bills with artists such as Grace Potter and George Porter Jr.. Her performances range from full-band sets to intimate ensembles and solo appearances, unified by an expressive, emotionally driven approach to live music.
